FACEBOOK TO INTRODUCE FACE RECOGNITION FOR LOGIN IN
Millions of Facebook users, who suffer while trying to recover their accounts after losing their passwords, will be relieved to discover the social network is set to design an alternative verification method using facial identification.
Facebook already purchased Faciometrics last year, a software that will aid in the facial recognition method, an alternative to the text and email verification used to recover and reset accounts and passwords respectively.
Facebook shed more light on the new feature by claiming;
“We are testing a new feature for people who want to quickly and easily verify account ownership during the account recovery process. This optional feature is available only on devices you’ve already used to log in. It is another step, alongside two-factor authentication via SMS, that were taking to make sure account owners can confirm their identity.”
