Swedish clothing company H&M, faced massive criticism from various celebrities and netizens on social media, over an advert that featured a black child wearing a hoodie written “Coolest Monkey in the Jungle.”

Thee Weeknd, who had earlier worked with the brand, announced on twitter he would no longer work with them, after seeing the image, which he said deeply offended him.

The fierce backlash received by H&M, forced them to pull down the hoodie from their stores and online.They sent out a  heartfelt apology that read;

“We sincerely apologize for offending people with this image of a printed hooded top. The image has been removed from all online channels and the product will not be for sale in the United States. We believe in diversity and inclusion in all that we do and will be reviewing all our internal policies accordingly to avoid any future issues.”
