TOURISTS ENTERING KENYA EXPERIENCE THE PLASTIC BAN EFFECT
If you planning to visit Kenya any time soon for whatever reason, kindly ensure any plastic bags in your possession remain in your area of departure, as the Plastic ban has really taken off quite swiftly since August 28th. The move was well advocated for by National Environment Management Authority (NEMA).
Visitors in the country are not exempted from the rule, as drop off bins, have been strategically placed by Kenya Airports Authority(KAA), at every entry point at the airport for adherence.
This was after a photo went viral, of a happy visitors deposing off their plastic bags going round on social media with congratulatory messages of the country’s milestone in the ban.
According to NEMA, any persons violating the ban will be subjected to one and two years jail term or a fine of between Sh2 million to Sh4 million.
